About the Theatre

Ste­fan Jaracz The­atre is a cul­tu­ral insti­tu­tion sub­or­di­nate to the Mar­shall Office of Lodz.
The three sta­ges loca­ted at Kilin­skiego Street are sup­por­ted by four regio­nal sce­nes in
Sie­radz, Piotr­kow Try­bu­nal­ski, Skier­nie­wice and Radomsk, that came to be thro­ugh a
finan­cial pro­ject fun­ded by the Euro­pean Union. This allows this lar­gest dra­ma­tic the­atre in
Poland to pro­vide the audien­ces – also those loca­ted out­side the region’s capi­tal – with a
cul­tu­ral pro­duct of the highest quality; this posi­tion is con­fir­med thro­ugh nume­rous awards,
inc­lu­ding Gol­den Masks – a proof of pra­ise from local cri­tics. The crew of the Ste­fan Jaracz
The­atre is eager to under­take chal­len­ges and has main­ta­ined its superb arti­stic level for years.
We have the sup­port and reco­gni­tion of audien­ces and cri­tics and are invi­ted to festi­vals on
natio­nal and inter­na­tio­nal levels. We coope­rate with arti­sts respec­ted thro­ughout Poland and
the whole world. Each month the the­atre per­forms aro­und 60 shows on three sta­ges, for ca. 4
tho­usand spec­ta­tors.
